Insulate and Waterproof with Our Commercial Roof Coating Service
Dr. Roof installs liquid silicone roofing overlay systems for commercial rooftops in Washington and Oregon. From prep to finishing touches, we ensure your roof is protected from rain and moisture for the long term.
Our Gaco roof coatings are designed not only to prevent water ponding on flat roofs, they reflect heat, UV rays, and prevent moisture building on both flat and pitched roof styles.
The roof coating, however, is only as good as its installer. And our roof coating specialists are highly experienced, professional, and knowledgeable about the needs of business owners in the area. Count on us to keep your commercial building protected.
Professionally installed roof coating systems protect your building from standing water, premature deterioration, moisture damage, and heat.
How does the roof coating process work?
Our roof coatings are made from silicone, which means it is highly resistant to heat and moisture. Covering your commercial roof with this material means saving money by avoiding a re-roof or tear-off.
This system is a guaranteed long-term solution to protecting and renewing weathered and worn rooftops. Silicone roofs are also extremely durable, making them perfect for harsh coastal conditions and stormy weather.
To install these coatings, we begin by meticulously prepping the existing roof surface. We repair damage, clean the surface, smooth uneven areas, ensure the integrity of the roof structure, and remove all existing moisture and debris.
Testing, cleaning, repairing, and prepping your roof
We start preparing your roof by inspecting it for damage and wear and testing it to make sure the adhesion will work on that type of surface.
We then use a concentrated cleaner and a variety of tools to make sure the roof is completely clean and dry before applying the membrane. For larger roofs, we use an industrial pressure washer, push brooms, and water hoses, to release caked-on dirt, debris, moss, and algae.
The roof surface needs to be completely clean and dry before the primer is applied, so we may use commercial blowers to speed up the process and ensure a thoroughly dry surface.
Reinforcing, trimming, and patching
Our team of roof coating specialists never overlooks the details. We take the time to reinforce seams, joints, and corners with roof tape and patch any damage. We also trim any overhang as needed to ensure smooth angles.
Priming your roof
Depending on the type of existing roof material, we will choose a quick-drying primer to ensure complete adhesion of the coating to the roof surface.
Applying your new waterproof roof coating
The final step in the roof coating process is applying the first and second coats. Though we do ensure a dry surface before applying the primer, the first and second coatings are actually waterproof even before they’ve fully dried. Our team, however, is always careful to make sure the weather permits us to install your roof membrane safely and correctly.
Our roof coating products are available in a limited variety of shades. If you’d like your roof to be a darker or lighter shade of white, gray, or tan, talk to us about our roof coating colorants.
Once the final coat has been applied, we perform detailed trim work to ensure any cracks or flaws are addressed. We also check for any potential ponding areas and correct them as needed.
Can roof coatings be applied in one day?
Yes, a roof coating, depending on the scale of the project, can be applied and completed in a single day. Multi-building or large scale projects may require more days, but we will always offer an accurate timeline so you can plan accordingly.
The nice thing about our roof coating process is that you do not need to cease business operations while we work. Unline a tear-off or re-roof, there is minimal to no disruption of your daily operations.
